This lesson is for sewers that can sew, just not confident altering clothing.

Everyone has a stash of cloths that need fixing or tweaking.

Don’t throw out daggy cloths make them look better.

Don’t throw out long dresses make them shorter

This lesson will show you how to fix yours also learn from other candidates garment.

– hems

– Evening dress

– Suit pants or Jackets

– Replacing lining

– Hemming jeans

– garments that are to big that need taken in

– straps are too long

– too small sometimes you can be creative and add another colour or design to make garment fit or for eg if a dress is long you can shorten to use the fabric to let out.

– add fabric to a very low neckline

– dress to skirt

– sleeve length adjustment

– Suit jackets

– you can recycle something old to fix another

Most importantly, you will learn

– Fast track unpicking seams as this takes a lot of time when altering

– Re construction on garments

What you need to bring

– your sewing machine with all the accessories foot petal, matching threads,  bobbins, machine feet etc

– the tools, scissors, measuring tape, fabric marker, pins,

– 1 x meter of calico (in case you need to do toile)

– Bring more then one project, if we have the time we can keep going.
